
The Planet Smashers are a ska-punk band from Montreal, Canada, formed in 1994. As one of the most well-known and longest-running ska bands in Canada, they have been a driving force in the country’s ska scene, blending upbeat ska rhythms, punk rock energy, and a fun, party-loving attitude. The band was founded by lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Collyer, who also co-founded Stomp Records, a label that became crucial in promoting ska and punk bands in Canada. Their self-titled debut album, The Planet Smashers (1995), quickly gained attention in the underground ska scene. However, it was their subsequent releases, including Attack of the Planet Smashers (1999) and Life of the Party (1999) Over the years, The Planet Smashers have remained one of the most enduring bands in the ska scene.
In 2019, they released Too Much Information, proving that their signature sound still resonates with fans. They continue to tour and play major ska festivals, keeping the spirit of ska alive.
