Girth Control is a ska-punk trio from Albany, New York, known for their energetic performances and humorous, party-centric themes. Formed in 2014, the band initially came together to play a single basement show but quickly evolved into a staple of the upstate NY punk scene.

The band’s music blends elements of ska and punk, drawing inspiration from the vibrant punk rock culture of the 1990s. Their lyrics often reflect themes of fun, nostalgia, and the simple joys of making music with friends. As they describe, Girth Control aims to remind listeners of “the days of circle pits and skateboards, basement bands and beer bongs.” In March 2023, Girth Control released their ambitious album, Life’s Too Short for Girth Control, featuring 25 tracks that showcase their signature blend of catchy hooks and comedic undertones.
